TRAINING BECOMING A THERAPIST

The Science of Becoming an Exceptional Therapist

Most therapists believe they’re above average.

But the reality is that we all struggle with difficult cases and confusing clinical presentations.

We can teach you how to work with a wider range of patients, more effectively and with more confidence.

Our training is based on the comprehensive and ground-breaking work of the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group, and we teach you how to apply it your work.

OUR MISSION

Courses

Introductory Course

Want to test the waters? We regularly teach 3 hour into classes to outline the theory, answer questions, and demonstrate the formulation. Participants often say it has more impact on their practice than any other training they’ve completed.

MASP

Our Flagship course — Mastering the Art and Science of Psychotherapy. A deep dive into the research roots of the theory, a robust map of the theory itself, and lots and lots of practice formulating and applying your new knowledge to cases. You will leave a different therapist.

Case Conferences

Once you have a foundation in the theory, the way to learn is practice, practice, practice. Ongoing case conferences have proved to be the best method to really integrating the theory.

Speciality Courses

We regularly teach classes on special interest topics and how they integrate with CMT, from working with certain patient populations to how CMT integrates with other theories. Please check our “Upcoming Events Page” to see what’s on the horizon. If you’d like to request a certain topic, please don’t hesitate to ask!
